Tonight is the 4th annual FNO. It's the perfect opportunity to meet some of your favouite fashion icons, collect free gifts (and drinks), while listening to celebrity-spun dj sets. Unfortunately all this glitz and glamour does come with a fair share of chaos, pushing, mobs, line-ups, and shoe pains. However, when planned correctly Fashion's Night Out promises to be a rewarding night.
I recommend eating (and possibly drinking) before heading out for the night. HANGER will only make your night more stressful! And having a plan for the night can keep things running smoothly. I am a strong believer in quality over quantity. You don't need to waste time in the crowded subways or in cabs you won't hail. Picking a few destinations in the same area is always a good idea. Department stores are great because you can wander between floors and find new events... however expect line-ups. Soho and Meatpacking have a high concentration of stores so you won't get bored, but keep in mind that crowds can be tricky to navigate.
Here's a guide to some spots that I think will be hosting some of the best events tomorrow night:
For Getting Pretty: Blow, The New York Blow Dry Bar (342 West 14th Street)
They are offering free dry styling which means your pics from the night will be that much cuter!
For your Warmup: Zara
Celebrity DJ, Spanish Cava Bar, and Polaroids make for the perfect pre-game formula!
For Brushing Up to Celebs and Fashion Icons: Saks Fifth Avenue
Celebs and fashion icons like Oscar De La Renta, Amare Stoudemire, Rachel Roy, Erin Fetherson, and Rebecca Minkoff will all make appearances in the store. While Darren Criss will be signing issues of Vogue, and Vanessa Carleton will be performing.
For Eco-Conscious Goodness: Stella McCartney
The meatpacking store is hosting an eco-conscious party with eco-friendly snacks and drinks. Do you expect anything less from Stella?
For Good Music: Intermix (812 Washington Street)
The Knocks will be in story and performing live!!
For A Nice Discout: Phillip Lim (115 Mercer Street)
15% off accessories, thank you very much!
For Instagram: Tory Burch
While the whole night will be filled with Instagram photo-ops, Tory Burch has taken it to the next level with an on-hand Instagram printer. Hashtag: TOTES AMAZE.
For Azelia Banks: MAC Soho
Azelia Banks will be in the 212, performing at MAC in Soho!
For Limited Time Purchases: Missoni
Missoni is selling their designer headphones for $25. Italian soda's will be served and music will be spun by Kissette.
For Kellan Lutz: Bloomingdales 1000 3rd Ave
His appearance is supposedly in the BEDDING Section on the seventh floor. #STRATEGICPLACEMENT
For Sparkle: Tiffany & Co. Soho
It's the perfect chance to visit the new Soho store while enjoying fashion, tunes, and TREATS!
There are obviously too many cool events. With all that being said, FNO can be a serendipitous night. Sometimes the fun is in stumbling into cool events you weren't expecting. Happy Shopping!
